What differentiates the Wall Bar from the standard intermediate Main Bar, is that the top capping is moulded with a vertical up-stand. The Wall Bar should be positions so that the back of the up-stand is flush against the abutting wall. This allows flash to be fitted part way down the up-stand, which then is acting like a soaker to aid water run off and prevent ingress along the roof end.

Each bar includes, 1 x PVC-u base bar and 1 x PVC-u top capping with up-stand (both with co-extruded gaskets), plus 1 x end cap with retaining screw and screw cover cap.

Fitting the SNAPA Snap-Fix Wall Glazing Bar
The following is a brief summary of typical installation. Technical Information and further Fitting Advice is available.
- Prepare Base Bars and Top Cappings by cutting to length, ensuring that there is the correct amount of gutter overhang; typically 50mm.
- Fix base bar to timber rafter by screwing through central channel every 200-300mm and no more than 75mm from either end.
- Wall Bar base should be fitted approximately 8mm from the abutting wall, as the Top Capping up-stand, which should be flush against the wall, projects 8mm beyond the base.
- Prepare polycarbonate sheets by cutting to size, before fitting breather tape and End Closure/Drip Trim. Position over bars and check that any protective film is peeled back from sides. Eaves Seal Foam can be used along eaves to support the underside of the sheets.
- Push the Top Cappings down into position over the Base Bar up-stand and tap down using a soft/rubber headed hammer.
- Fit End Caps with supplied screws and caps.

Premium quality, Inner Capping for 45mm (1 3/4") timber rafters. The Main Bar comes as three parts, a mill-finished aluminium Inner Capping, an aluminium powder-coated Outer Capping and cast aluminium End Cap.
The Inner Capping features rubber gaskets and creates a water-tight seal over the glazing when screwed to the rafter. All fixings are concealed and water ingress eliminated by the durable Outer Capping which snap-fixes securely over the Inner Capping. A heavy duty End Cap provides secure and decorative closure to end of bars, while helping to prevent slippage of Outer Capping and glazing material.
Base Gaskets, which sit directly on timber rafters underneath the glazing material, can be supplied to provide a rubber seal under glazing material if required.

Fitting the Sunwood Snap-Tight 25GB Rafter Main Bar
Cut Base Bars to length. Drill fixing holes in the centre of each glazing bar between the upright toothed legs. Fixings should be made at no more than 450mm intervals and around 75mm in from each end. Then ensure Base Gaskets are fitted to either side of Base Bar and screw to the rafter. You can then position the pre-cut and taped polycarbonate and fit Eaves Seal Foam as a draft excluder if desired. All that is then required is to locate the PVC-u Cap over the Base Bar and press/tap firmly into position.

Fitting the Exitex Capex Snap Down Glazing Bar
The following is offered as a guide to typical installation, and not intended as comprehensive fitting instructions.
Cut Base Bar and Top Capping to same length as polycarbonate sheet
Fit EPDM rubber gasket (may need to be torn into two along the length) to track on either side of Base Bar
Pre-drill fixing holes along length of base bar and between toothed up-stand
Fixings should be no more than 500mm apart and within 100mm from either end
Screw the Base Bars to rafters using 5mm wood screws
Peel protective film from edges of polycarbonate sheets to prevent being strapped by glazing bar
Position Top Capping over Base Bar and push legs firmly into up-stand to ensure seal
Fit end closure to polycarbonate sheet, using thin bead of silicone on underside of top face
Apply a little silicone sealant to underside of End Cap top lip and push firmly onto glazing bar
Additional considerations
It is assumed that polycarbonate sheet length is cut with allowance for a 50mm overhang into the gutter.
A glazing width deduction of 21mm from rafter centres will allow for Base Bar up-stand, plus expansion and contraction.
Fixing buttons can be used along eaves or purlins to secure sheets that are large, or in exposed locations.
Capex Snap Down works best with roofs over 5° pitch.

Fitting the Sunwood Screw-Down 50mm Rafter Main Bar
Base Gaskets should be fitted to timber rafter. If timbers do not have a 3mm groove, then the central Pip that runs down the underside of the Base Gasket can be removed. Base Gasket should be cut to a length that allows it to over hand the gutter and fixed to the rafter with staples or similar. End Caps should be fitted and Main Bars cut to length. Main Bars can then be screwed down at 300mm intervals onto the timber rafters to form a nice tight seal of High Side EPDM Gasket onto the roof material. It is vital that the Main Bar Top Cap sits on the Sunwood Ridge's Flipper Seal and that the Main Bar Cover Cap is fitted and is covered by the Ridge. The Cover Cap is easy to fit using the two cover cap locators that run parallel down the length of the Main Bar - just hook the Cover Cap over one cover cap locators and pivot down onto other for a tigh snap fit.

Fitting the H-Section Trim
To fit, simply push the h-section onto first one sheet and then push the second sheet into the open side. Ensure that there is a little breathing space between the end of the sheet and the internal face of the h-section. It is often recommended to run a bead of neutral cure silicone on the underside of the top lips, to help seal and secure.

The following general pointers are offered to help you best fit the Polycarbonate Sheet Fixing Buttons:
Use a sharp steel drill bit instead of a wood one
Drill at least 40mm away from the edge
Drill between the ribs
Do not over-tighten the screw fixing and squash the sheets - as a guide the button should not touch the sheet
Using an 18mm drill bit will allow the sheet to move due to natural expansion and contraction
If using a large sheet the use of a perlin can be used.
Use to fix into perlins, noggins or rafters.

Closes open ends of sheets and protects the edges!
Dual-purpose transparent uPVC plastic c-profile extrusion. Fits across twin-wall and triple-wall polycarbonate sheets to act as an end closure that protects breather tape and prevent ingress of water and insects, or can be used along the length as a protective edge trim.
Available for 10mm and 16mm thick multiwall polycarbonate sheets and in lengths of 2m (6ft 7in) and 3m (9ft 10in). A great product for protecting edges when over-sailing sheet directly across starter rafters.

Fitting the C-Section Trim
To fit, simply push the c-section onto the sheet and ensure that there is a little breathing space between the end of the sheet and the internal face of the c-section. It is often recommended to run a bead of neutral cure silicone on the underside of the top lip, to help seal and stick.

Fitting the SNAPA Snap-Fix Glazing Bar
The following is a brief summary of typical installation. Technical Information and further Fitting Advice is available.
Prepare Base Bars and Top Cappings by cutting to length, ensuring that they will overhang the correct amount over the gutter.
Fix base bar to timber rafter by screwing through central channel every 200-300mm and no more than 75mm from either end.
Prepare polycarbonate sheets by cutting to size, before fitting breather tape and End Closure/Drip Trim. Position over bars and check that any protective film is peeled back from sides. Eaves Seal Foam can be used along eaves to support the underside of the sheets.
Push Top Cappings down into position over the Base Bar upstand and tap down using a soft/rubber headed hammer.
Fit End Caps with supplied screws and caps.

Midland Lead is produced to European Standard (BSEN12588: 1999) which regulates dimensional tolerances and governs the amount of permitted inclusions (copper, tin, antimony, etc) in the lead.
In accordance with EN Code Weights, Code 3 is rolled out to 1.32mm thickness (+/- 5% tolerance) to give a weight of 15Kg per square metre.

Handling Recommendations
Lead is a natural product which, when exposed to the air, can discolour due to oxidisation. To reduce this effect we recommend the use of Patination Oil, prior to installation.
Gloves should be worn when handling to protect from sharp edges. Hands should be washed thoroughly after contact.
Regular spaced expansion joints should be used to avoid any problems caused by expansion and contraction. Individual flashing pieces should not exceed 1.5m in length.
