Product information "10mm Clear Polycarbonate Sheets"
10mm Clear Polycarbonate Sheets
Any size up to 2.1m x 6m (width x length)
Lightweight, tough and thermally efficient roofing panels!
Clear polycarbonate allows high level of light transmission to maximise available light and encourage heat build up. A conservatory would be bright and light - even on the darkest winter days. A good choice for colder spots and ideal for industrial and commercial greenhouses.
10mm polycarbonate sheets are great for carports, pergolas and greenhouses. For large application, a thicker 16mm polycarbonate may be preferable and 25mm or 35mm for conservatories
Polycarbonate is a great insulator that also reduces condensation and diffuses light. It can also be more energy efficient than glass of a comparable thickness and up to 50% cheaper.
Features & Benefits
UV Resistance - minimises long-term yellowing
High resistance to impact - resistance to breakage
Super thermal efficiency - triplewall and fivewall
Robust yet lightweight - fraction of glass weight
Fire safety - Class 1 Spread of Flame Protection
10 year warranty - light transmission is guaranteed

Fitting Anti-Dust Breather Tape
Fitting Anti-Dust Breather tape to your polycarbonate sheets is quite straight forward when you follow these simple steps.
1. Prepare the polycarbonate sheetClean the end of the sheet where you will fit the tape. This is a good time to remove dirt or moisture from the flutes, which are the channels that run the length of the sheet. Ensure that the surface is clean and dry before...2. Positioning tape over endCut 50mm longer than the width of the sheet, to allow 25mm to wrap round both corners. Stick the pre-cut tape to the end of your sheet. Position vertically so that some tape rises above and an equal amount hangs below the end of the sheet. Then...3. Fold tape over to secureFold the overhanging strips of tape to the top and bottom face of the sheeting. Don't worry if the tape is a little longer than your sheet, you can just fold it round the end to...4. Fit End ClosureFit a protective end closure over the sheet to prevent it from being harmed by the elements.
End Closure for 10mm Polycarbonate Sheets
(White, Brown or Anthracite Grey)
Seal and protect the ends of your polycarbonate sheets
Also known as "U" Drips, Poly End Covers and End Profile Trims, these End Closures are designed to protect ends and form a tight seal to the top of polycarbonate sheeting.
End closures are typically fitted to the gutter-end of pitched roofs, such as those of a conservatory, or to both ends of a free-standing roof. Provide decorative protection to the vulnerable ends of polycarbonate sheeting.
Features & Benefits
Seals open end of polycarbonate sheet
Helps prevent dust and insects entering the sheet
Protects vented anti-dust breather tape
Drip design prevents water from being blown back towards the roof
Drainage holes reduce condensation and moisture
IMPORTANT SIZE INFORMATION These end closures are designed to fit 10mm thick sheets, and are supplied in 2.1m lengths for white and brown, and 2.5m length for anthracite grey.
Extend the life of your roof
With three sides protected by glazing bars and ridge capping, the gutter end is often the only edge of polycarbonate sheets that are exposed. When left exposed, the breather tape that is applied to the open fluted ends of the sheets become wet and deteriorate. This leads to failure of the tape and the sheets flutes suffering condensation, algae build-up and insect penetration. Fitting End Closures helps stop this from happening. These End Closures are designed with a 3mm 'drip' on the front edge, to stop water running back towards the roofing material.

Fitting Polycarbonate Sheet Fixing Buttons
The following general pointers are offered to help you best fit the Polycarbonate Sheet Fixing Buttons:
Use a sharp steel drill bit instead of a wood one
Drill at least 40mm away from the edge
Drill between the ribs
Do not over-tighten the screw fixing and squash the sheets - as a guide the button should not touch the sheet
Using an 18mm drill bit will allow the sheet to move due to natural expansion and contraction
If using a large sheet the use of a perlin can be used.
Use to fix into perlins, noggins or rafters.

IMPORTANT: Polycarbonate is cut from oversized sheets to the sizes that you choose when ordering and is therefore considered a bespoke tailor-made good, which falls outside the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Please consider the options carefully before purchasing as returns are not accepted. Feel free to contact us if you need any advice.
Choosing Polycarbonate
When choosing polycarbonate sheets, you should consider the direction that the roof sheets will face, as the tints provide varying degrees of Solar Control, Thermal Efficiency and Translucency.
NORTH FACINGDoesn't receive much direct sunlight. So, consider maximising use of available light with a Clear tint
SOUTH FACINGLong periods of direct sunlight. Could become unbearably hot during summer, so Heatguard should be considered
EAST FACINGUtilise the morning sun with Clear or Opal tints to build-up heat for the rest of the day
WEST FACINGHeat can build-up due to the afternoon sun, so Opal or Bronze tints may be preferable
Beyond simply appearance, there are other considerations when choosing the best polycarbonate for your application. The Colour Tint, Thickness and Sheet Size are key factors explained below.
Colour Tint
ClearMaximises daylightHigh level of light transmission provides greater heat build up. A conservatory would be bright and light - even on the darkest winter days. A good choice for colder spots and ideal for industrial and commercial greenhouses. OpalSoft diffused lightAllows light into a conservatory or building to keep it bright but reduces solar gain concentrating on one area. So, eliminates uncomfortable hot-spots. Provides privacy and creates softer light quality. BronzeKeeps things coolLower levels of light transmission and shading co-efficiency makes Bronze effective at limiting the amount of light and minimising glare. Also reduces heat build up, so it's popular for sunnier spots as it can help keep room cool.
Sheet Thickness
If replacing individual sheets then you may wish to purchase the same thickness as the others. Alternatively, when whole roofs are being replaced, it may be an opportunity to upgrade to thicker sheeting for greater thermal efficiency and sound-proofing. But be sure that the increased thickness is compatible with your roofing system.
Sheet Size
Within this listing you can buy sheets at common widths* and lengths. However, we also offer a free cut-to-size service, which eliminates wastage, meaning you only pay for what you use, and saves you time on site. Please note that due to the thermal expansion of fitted sheets, a little space should be available on the ridge and glazing bar sides.
* Remember that sheets should be fitted with the flute (chambers) running down the length, and that is

Fitting the Sunwood Snap-Tight 25GB Rafter Main Bar
Cut Base Bars to length. Drill fixing holes in the centre of each glazing bar between the upright toothed legs. Fixings should be made at no more than 450mm intervals and around 75mm in from each end. Then ensure Base Gaskets are fitted to either side of Base Bar and screw to the rafter. You can then position the pre-cut and taped polycarbonate and fit Eaves Seal Foam as a draft excluder if desired. All that is then required is to locate the PVC-u Cap over the Base Bar and press/tap firmly into position.
