M6 Self-Tapping Concrete Anchors (5 Pack)
M6 Self-Tapping Concrete Anchors (5 Pack) (Available in: M6 x 50mm, 75mm or 100mm ) Get an anchor designed for the job! High quality Self Tapping Concrete Anchors that cut a thread directly into pre-drilled pilot holes, no anchor or plug is needed. Self Tapping Anchors are an excellent way to fasten a wide range of material to masonry. Really easy to use... just drill a pilot hole (see technical information below for appropriate diameter) and use socket wrench or spanner to tighten the screw, into concrete, natural stone, solid or perforated bricks, hollow blocks etc. The anchor has a high-low (aka hi-lo) relief thread to aid the removal of dust and ease insertion. The threaded anchor and self-tapping action allows for safe anchorage, with the substrate becoming the nut to the bolt - this utilises a tried and tested method for metals and wood to a broader selection of materials. These screws can be reversed and reused in the same hole - as it has cut the thread. Suitable for fixing timber battens/counter battening, window/door frames, machinery to the floor, wall plates, signs etc. Brackets or handrails, ducting, satellite dishes & aerials, trunking etc. In fact anywhere a fixing to concrete or masonry is required. Features & Benefits No expansion force - unlike plugs or anchors - you can place nearer the edge without risk of fracturing Eliminates line up problems - drill the pilot hole direct into material and substrate Suitable for a variety of substrates - concrete, solid, perforated or hollow bricks, natural stone, marble etc New easy fix - relief thread is easier to tighten especially at a lower torque than traditional plugged fixings Cuts a thread into base material - because there is no need to insert the plug and Reversed and reused - can be unscrewed and reused or reposition the object and reuse the same hole it cut Yellow Zinc Passivated - increases the resistance to corrosion High quality carbon steel - extremely hard wearing and strong - tensile strengths of 1080N/mm2 Safer - tightened using a standard wrench or spanner which is easier to control Neat finish - provides a neat finish and if removed leaves only a neat clean hole Reduces wear to bits - because they can be inserted into a shallower hole that traditional plugged fixings Utilises standardised dimensions - M6, M8, M10 or M12 Dimensions stamped on head - easier to identify for post inspection and if loose out of box 1 Piece design - means that there are no other pieces to lose unlike sleeved anchors Technical Information Specification Summary: M Standard Diameter M6 M8 M10 M12 Lengths available (mm) 50 75 100 60 75 100 130 150 75 100 130 150 75 100 130 150 200 Pilot Hole / Bit required 6mm 8mm 10mm 12mm Shear Force 2.2kN 3.6kN 4.2kN 4.6kN Pilot Hole / Bit required 6mm 8mm 10mm 12mm Bolt Head Diameter 10mm 15mm 17mm 19mm Minimum embedment depth 30mm 40mm 50mm 60mm Head type Hex head Finish Yellow Zinc Passivated Material Extremely high quality carbon steel tensile strengths of 1080N/mm2 Thread type Self tapping with relief thread Head type Hex head How do I install the anchor? Important Notes:- Stated length of the anchor is from the underneath of the head Clearance hole diameter in attached object to be fixed for an M12 anchor is 14mm Recommend using manual tools to drive the anchor for more control and safety - using a drill can strip the thread or damage the hole

The length of the anchor needed can be worked out by adding the minimum embedment depth (50mm for a M10) to the object being fixed depth, this will give the length of the anchor required. For example if the depth of the object being fixed is 45mm and the minimum embedment depth is 50mm that is 45 + 50 = 95 rounded to the nearest size in the range that means a 100mm anchor should be used. Using this simple calculation can save you money! What depth do I drill the pilot hole? The depth you need to drill the pilot hole is worked out by subtracting the objects depth from the stated anchor length and then add 5mm. For example if the anchor is 100mm and the object being fixed is 45mm that is 100 - 45 + 5 = 60 the depth of the pilot hole needed is 60mm.
